An email arrived today from someone who thought I was a publisher and he inquired about a book. Before I answered him, I thought I'd be helpful and do a few Google searches. After all, I DO like to research on the web. It's almost a hobby. Anyway ... in my search I came across a family in Connecticut where the children were born in Boston in the 1630's (we easily forget how old is this country) and their names were Eliphalet, Thomas, Mehitable, Mary, Israel, Hannah and Renewed. I'm intrigued about how the names are/were pronounced. Do you think Eliphalet is ee-lif'-a-let? Is Renewed pronounced ree-nude' or ree-new'-ed? And I won't even attempt it, but how does one pronounce Mehitable? By the way, if you have adult children about to produce grandchildren, you might want to suggest one or more of these names. Dave
