Fiona, Might be best to start over before it gets complicated. Give some thought to what each of, let's say, the first 5 posts should contain and we can assemble it. Then we'll put them up in order. Changing Order of Posts. By the way, it IS possible to change the order of the posts afterward. Blogger puts up the posts in order of the date and time "stamped" on the post, which is normally when you post it. However, on the screen where you construct (or edit) a post, at the bottom of the message box you'll see "Post Options." If you click it you'll see a number of options, including "Post Date and Time" which is normally set to Automatic. But if you change that to "Scheduled At" you can manipulate the order. For example, if you want the order of posts to change from "A to B" and instead have "B to A," just change the time on B to a minute before A. New Dynamic Views. Not to addle you tired head, but Blogger has a new style of presentation available called Dynamic Views. This allows the reader to view the entire blog in a variety of ways. Click on the link below to see a test site I've been fooling with (called God On The Ground). I've copied the posts from various places for test purposes. Notice at the top of the block you can choose from a variety views, such as Classic, Flip Card, Magazine, etc. Dynamic Views is in its early stages and has a few problems, but it might do for our purposes. "Gadgets" (videos, etc., the stuff on "The Right Side" on the MoreStoriesPlace blog) are not yet available, but can some of these can be put in as posts. godontheground.blogspot.comDave

I don't mind doing that, but I don't know why I can't access my post simply to read it.

Fiona, not sure what part of my last post you are referring to in your last post. In any case, there should be no problem reading your post on OnGeneseeHill.blogspot.com. It is an open blog. Not everyone can post, but anyone can read it. You don't need to log in. Dave

Do you want me to move your comment to make it a new post? Or to make your comment part of an existing post?

I need to post a picture of Latcher pretty soon. If I do so does it knock out anything on the front piece?

OK, but you can't put a photo in a comment. If you can't amend the post send photo (and any text) to me and I'll put it in.

just some thoughts: looks beautiful. I could only look it over briefly right now. This is what I would like to do in this order, if possible: I will post a pic of Latcher, or send it to you via e mail from PB later tonight, or if you prefer I can post it here. I will put with this a brief bio. let me know. Next, before I proceed with the story line, where I am going to bring in Blandina Miller, I would like a eulogy for March 3, a music and story line posting of your choice and I will post something too., but I don't know what yet. Do you think the story line is descriptive enough? I am going to talk about the cafe next and bring Miss B.Miller there as Latcher's private guest - his first guest. I want you to know that i am writing all of this as i go, off the top of my head, so if it seems rough, unpolished, because it is. All for now. After this I will mainly be posting on Sun. nites because of my schedule.

Fiona, it is probably the simplest to send me via email what you want posted and tell me where you want it and in what order. But certainly if you want to go in there and create posts, pictures, etc. have at it! If you make a mistake you can't fix, I probably can. I don't have anything in mind for a March 3 euology, unless I post "Mary at the end." That might be appropriate since it's the day of the fire, which was her end. www.windsweptpress.com/TEMP/mary end.jpg[/img]

While looking over the files, I also came across this: Here's a partial transcription: "In the cellar of the apartment occupied by the family of John B. Wood there was found yesterday a silver watch which had belonged to Miss Wood and was inscribed with her initials, and a silver pin consisting of two hearts which had also belonged to her. The search here was carefully conducted, but no trace of the remains of Mrs. Wood or her daughter was found. There was found in this cellar a cut glass smelling bottle, bunch of keys and a handsomely engraved sword. In the first flat yesterday morning, there was found a lock of brown hair, but no body was discovered. Earrings and finger rings were found yesterday, in which the stones were missing, indicating that the settings had spread enough to allow the stones to drop out. In the burning of the building it is pretty evident that the floors first fell and went into the cellar, and the side walls fell afterward, covering the mass. The city has abut twenty-five men at work, and the first thing they do is to remove the covering of brick and mortar. This can just as well be done at night, for it requires no further inspection than workmen would naturally give it in shoveling it over, for there is little probability of finding anything in it. It is near the cellar bottom, however, that most of the articles of value were found and where the bodies are expected to be. This work must be done very carefully, as even a fragment of a human body might be over looked." In looking over the files, I see I have a Word file with all the news articles in the Utica papers about the fire, from 1896 on, many of the transcriptions by Jon. As well, a summary file of everything about the Woods that appeared in the papers at that time. I think you have them, but if not, let me know and I'll send them to you. Or to anyone else who might like a copy.
