Hello yourself. A question occurred to me when I visited your page: did your historical lecture ever get rescheduled?

IDK. mabye they will have it in the late Spring. there is so much work to do there at OCHS. I haven't even been over there this year. Too busy starting a series of new paintings. No one has said anything to me about it. I will let you know.

Hi Dave, I was trying to respond using "quote"(to reply to an existing post) and each time it would say "another member already has that name." That's why I opened a new account as "UrbanHermit", but then I received the same message. Not quite sure what I was doing wrong, but it hasn't let me respond other than through "Quick Reply". Thanks, J.G.F.

BTW, I think I found my "home" as far as sites and forums are concerned. My sister (Lady Oracle) and I are both very interested in Utica history. As much as I love politics and current events, I don't really care to debate (argue) my position, as it often escalates in to heated discussions, so I'm glad I found a site dedicated to the history and architecture of the great city of Utica. I focused primarily on my own family for quite some time, so the overall history in general is relatively new to me and I am learning so much reading your threads and following your postcard tours.

Welcome, Urban Hermit. I am working on a new post card tour called " Streets of Old Utica. I don't know where it will take me, since these project tend to change over time. Dave and I started to put some of it up last night. We will have a seperate comment thread. Enjoy.

I missed this string of earlier posts. Welcome again, urban hermit-JGF. I'm not sure what's happening re your id. It looks OK from an admin point of view. I know what you mean about arguing points of view. I prefer a conversation in my living room among friends for relaxation. If a friend and myself disagreed, I'd take the opportunity to point out my best argument and then leave it go. On the Internet too often, people begin to spar, to win a point at any cost (L.O. has no doubt seen that in court) and while it may be good for some folks egos, it is hardly relaxing conversation. And it too often degenerates into ad hominems. I suppose that's a good thing about the Internet, if you want argument you can always find one. I don't want it. Sometimes I find myself embroiled in discussions that I couldn't care that much about anyway. And I try to be a gentleman. Please remind me of this when I fail.
