let's go inside and take a look at some of the first floor. It is my understanding that this marble came from Vermont. BTW: Is that an orb on the staircase??

Look at this beautiful Celtic triskele work. I think the handrails are mahogany. This is really a building worth saving.

Up we go. See how the ceilings on the second floor are wavy? Those are the steel beams supporting the building. That marble is smooth and cool to the touch even on the hottest day.

Back down again! Lets go out to the yard. This long hall below is on the first floor. All the halls are essentially the same. Miles and miles of marble, all hauled up Genesee Street in 1896- 97- by horse and wagon! At one time all the halls were lit by beautiful brass chandeliers. All gone now.
